[FUSE TV] SEVENTEEN & MAMAMOO ARE THE FIRST ACTS CONFIRMED FOR KCON 2016 NEW YORK

Rainbow Bridge World, Pledis

Two of K-pop’s most exciting groups are set to get East Coast fans screaming this summer. KCON kicked off the artist lineup announcement for its biggest year yet today (March 31) and the world’s No. 1 Korean-culture festival is bringing Seventeen and MAMAMOO for its New York date.

Alongside a slate of still-to-be-revealed acts coming to both the New York and Los Angeles dates, the 13-member boy band and the soulful girl group will meet their fans and take the stage at the massive Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Earlier this month it was revealed that, for the first time ever, KCON New York will hold two days of panels, workshops, food trucks, artist meet-and-greets and convention fun along with two days of concerts.

Seventeen broke out onto the scene last year with their self-composed earworms like “Mansae” and “Adore U,” and choreography they created themselves. The group even earned the honor of being voted after nearly 400,000 Fuse readers voted them the No. 1 K-pop rookie group last year. Meanwhile, MAMAMOO is turning heads for their impressive pipes and rapping skills, most recently topping the charts with theirMelting album and “You’re the Best” single that were promoted at the group’s debut appearance at SXSW earlier this year.

KCON will continue announcing more artists for the 2016 lineup during its weekly #KCONLiveChat (tune in right here) at 8/7c on Thursdays.

KCON returns to the New York area on June 24 and 25. A month later, the fest will hit Los Angeles for three days of fun during July 29-31 at the city’s famous Staples Center.
